Lady Royale has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks overpriced at 33/1 to take advantange in the 4.50 at Doncaster today.
Geoff Oldroyd’s mare last scored when landing a 5f class 4 contest at Ripon back in August 2011 where she won easing down by a length from Crimson Knot off a mark of 81.
She followed that up with a fair 7th of 12 to York Glory in a class 2 contest off 85, after which her form tailed off.
The daughter of Monsieur Bond failed to make the frame in three starts last season, and showed little in her first four races of this campaign after 200 days on the sidelines.
However her mark has continued to fall as a result, and she now gets into this class 5 contest off a mark of just 65.
That gives her a huge shout at the weights on the pick of her form, and she shaped as if she could be on the way back and ready to take advantage at any time when an eye-catching fifth of 9 to Sophies Beau at Beverley last time out.
She was slowly away that day and soon pushed along but then made good headway on the outside two from home and kept on well inside the last to be beaten just 3/4 of a length in a blanket finish.
If she can build on that then she is a danger to all in this off her current mark under her optimum conditions.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Lady Royale (33/1 sportingbet)
