Aran Sky was a big eye-catcher last time out and is strongly fancied at 4/1 to open his account in the 4.50 at Ayr today.
Karl Burke’s charge ran well to be placed in his first two runs in handicaps, finishing third to the now 104-rated Arabian Comet at Wolverhampton off 68 and a 1/2 length runner-up to Ice Slice at Nottingham.
He then raced far too keenly when seventh of 12 to Craftsmanship on his penultimate start at Nottingham before shaping really well when fourth of 9 to Porthos Du Vallon at Hamilton last time out.
The three-year-old was held-up in the last pair in the latter, and after getting outpaced three from home kept on really well to be nearest at the finish and beaten 2 3/4 lengths.
It was an effort which suggested his time was near, and Aran Sky has since been dropped 2lb to a mark of 67.
That makes him look well-treated on the pick of his form in what looks a weak class 5 contest, especially with Joey Haynes in the saddle taking another 3lb off his back.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Aran Sky (4/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
