Torres Del Paine runs of a career-low mark in the 5.10 at Kempton today and is strongly fancied at 4/1 to take advantage and score and overdue success now dropped in class.
The gelding won three times over course and distance in 2012 when trained by Jimmy Fox, scoring in class 5 handicaps off 64 and 70 and winning a claimer on the last occasion off a rating of 75.
Now in the care of Brett Johnson, he gets into this off an all-time low of 50 having caught the eye in his last three starts without troubling the judge.
In each of those races, which were all class 6 handicaps, he has stayed on late and not been unduly knocked about.
They have suggested that he retains enough ability to win races, and this represents a golden opportunity for him to do so now dropped into class 7 company.
There is little doubt that on the pick of his back form he is absolutely thrown-in at the weights, and with David Probert in the saddle he looks sure to take all the beating.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Torres Del Paine (4/1 bet365, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Stan James – BOG)
