Clondaw Banker looks potentially thrown-in on handicap debut in the 5.40 at
Cheltenham today and is of major interest at 5/1.

Nicky Henderson’s gelding won a bumper on debut and shaped with bags of promise
his first start over the obstacles when chasing home Jolly’s Cracked It atPreview Changes
Ascot.

Clondaw Banker stumbled badly and lost vital ground at the fourth flight before
rallying strongly to be beaten 3 1/4 lengths.

He was arguably an unlucky loser, and the winner is a useful sort now rated 138,

That suggests that the assessor has taken a real chance in allotting Clondaw
Banker an opening handicap mark of just 121.

Although the six-year-old failed to build on that effort in three sudsequent
outings, Clondaw Banker was far from disgraced when last seen in action and
finishing a 2 1/2 length third of 15 to the 137-rated A Vos Gardes over 2m 4f at
Doncaster.

That form also suggests Clondaw Banker has got in lightly, and the drop back
down to 2m looks sure to suit.

Clondaw Banker also remains lightly-raced and open to further progress, and with
Jeremiah McGrath in the saddle taking off another 3lb with his claim looks
weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet (posted on twitter 5pm 23/10/15): 5pts win Clondaw
