5/1 Jordan Princess can take advantage of drop in class

Jordan Princess looks worth another chance at 5/1 to confirm earlier promise now eased further in grade and steppd up in trip in the 4.45 at Goodwood today.

The Luca Cumani trained filly shaped with bags of promise on her debut when sixth at Kempton, before landing a mile maiden at Newcastle in good style on her final start last season.

She travelled strongly throughout in the latter and quickened nicely to pull readily clear and beat Empress Ali going away by 2 3/4 on soft ground.

The daughter of Cape Cross then ran an excellent race on her seasonal reappearance in the 1m 2f Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket when chasing home subsequent impressive Investec Oaks and Kinge George winner Taghrooda.

Although eventually beaten six lengths by the winner, Jordan Princess led briefly a furlong from home in the Listed contest and threatened to make a race of it with John Gosden’s filly until getting outpaced.

Jordan’s Princess has failed to build on that effort in three subsequent starts, but both two runs have come over 1m 2f in Listed company and she shaped a bit better last time out when a staying on fifth of 11 to Kosika in a class 2 handicap at Newbury over 1m 2f.

She now drops down a grade into class 3 company off 1lb lower, and the step up to 1m 4f may well see her in a better light judged on her latest effort.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts won Jordan Princess (5/1 bet365, Betfred – BOG)
