6/1 Dancing Rain ready to cause Ascot splash

Classic winning filly Dancing Rain looks an each-way steal at 6/1 in the 3.00 at Ascot today.

William Haggas’ filly proved herself a class act when making all to win the Oaks at Epsom back in June where she made all and stayed on strongly to beat Wonder of Wonders, Izzi Top, Blue Bunting and Misty For Me.

Although she failed to confirm that form when 5th of 9 to Blue Bunting in the Irish equivalent she was from disgraced in being beaten only 2 1/2 lengths after being ridden with more restraint and not allowed to front run.

She proved that forcing tactics are the key to her when making all to easily land a Group 1 in Germany on her latest start, and providing similar tactics are employed this afternoon she is going to be extremely hard to peg back.

Having looked at the field there is every chance that she will get her own way up front and that Johnny Murtagh will be able to dictate the pace from the off.

I think that her win at Epsom has been somewhat regarded as a fluke victory in many quarters, but the form of the race is very strong and sets a high standard in this line-up.

To be honest I don’t think this is a strong Group 2 for “Champions Day” and given that she has Group 1 classic winning form in the book I am surprised to see her as big as 6/1.

To me that looks outstanding value and should be snapped up.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Dancing Rain (6/1 Coral)
