7/1 Scooby will definitely do!

The unexposed Havingotascoobydo has been crying out for a step up in trip and looks cracking value at 7/1 in the 2.10 at Cheltenham today.

The six-year-old has looked a very smart prospect since being sent chasing and won two of his first three starts over the larger obstacles before finishing runner-up to Tanks For That at this track last month over 2m and then a staying on third to Astracad over a furlong further here last month.

Both those efforts suggested to me that Martin Keighley’s imposing gelding would really come into his own when his stamina was brought into play, and the extra half mile he tackles in this 2m 5f contest looks sure to suit.

He is officially 4lb “wrong” at the weights, but that does not put me off given that he remains open to bags more improvement.

I think that he is a handicapper to keep on the right side, and with just 10st on his back he must go close if putting in a clear round in a race which looks sure to be run to suit.

At 7/1 he looks an each-way steal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Havingotascoobydo (7/1 Hills – BOG, sportingbet)
