7/1 Tempuran the choice at Chepstow

Tempuran is a fascinating contender in the 8.55 at Chepstow this evening and looks worth a wager at 7/1 to make a winning debut for David Bridgewater.

The well-bred gelding was formerly trained in Germany and having won a maiden at Dortmund last May went on to be beaten just 1/2 a length by Santarius at Frankfurt.

The winner went on to finish second of 15 to Kassiano at Hanover, and that horse went to develop into a really useful sort – winning three times in Meydan and finishing runner-up in a Group 1 to Hunter’s Light before finishing 9th of 12 to Animal Kingdom in the Dubai World Cup.

That line of form through Santarius has to make Tempuran off interest in this off an opening mark of just 68.

He is potentially thrown-in if the form is taken at face value, and having had just four starts he remains open to improvement.

His fitness does have to be taken on trust after 286 days on the sidelines, but his stable are more than capable of readying one and this doesn’t look the strongest of contests,

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Tempuran (7/1 Betfred, BetVictor, Hills – BOG)
