Quayside Court has become dangerously well handicapped and looks well-worth a wager at 7/2 to take advantage and score a repeat success in the 3.40 at Taunton today.
Claire Dyson’s nine-year-old won this contest 12 months ago off a mark of 69 by a runaway 25 lengths and then followed up at Towcester off 78 when stayng on well to beat Royaume Bleu by 4 1/2 lengths.
He got whacked up another 8lb for that success to a mark of 86 and it’s fair to say that proved too much and his form tailed off.
However his handicap mark has fallen as a result and he shaped as if coming back to form at Towcester last time out when third of 11 to Von Galen.
Although eventually beaten 25 lengths that day he raced with plenty of enthusiasm at the head of affairs and after leading three out weakened after being headed before the second last.
That run come off a mark of 76, and the handicapper has taken a chance by dropping him another 6lb to 70 if he can build on that effort.
He is now 8lb lower than when last successful and just 1lb higher than when taking this 12 months ago and that gives him outstanding claims at the weights.
The gelding also looks to have been brought along with this race in mind and should now be spot on to do himself justice, and everything suggesst he is the one they all have to beat.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Quayside Court (7/2 BetVictor, Hills – BOG, 888sport)
