8/1 Don’t Have It Then can deliver at Kempton

Don’t Have It Then was a big eye-catcher last time out and looks worth siding with at 8/1 in the 4.40 at Kempton today.

Willie Musson’s charge had a good record on the polytrack surface, winning twice and being placed three times from eight starts.

Those successes include a win over course and distance, and the gelding shaped as if ready to go in again when third of 10 to Varsovian over 6f at Lingfield last month.

After being held-up off the pace, Don’t Have It Then went very wide entering the straight when making a move two from home before keeping on strongly to go down by just 1/2 a length.

Given how the race panned out, and the ground he forfeited by running wide, it was a huge effort and one which suggested his current mark of 75 was not beyond him.

The return to this venue, where he has won and been beaten a nose in two starts in handicaps, is a plus in my book and he has also bagged a good draw in stall 3 from where he should be able to get a good pitch early doors before hopefully being produced late to land the spoils.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Don’t Have It Then (8/1 BetVictor, Coral, Paddy Power – BOG)
