8/1 Marjurie can strike handicap debut

Denis Coakley’s Miss Marjorie could well have got in lightly on her handicap debut in the 3.30 at Goodwood and looks worth a wager at 8/1.

The filly disappinted on hre final start as a juvenile but had previosuly put in a solid performance to win her maiden at the second time of asking when beating Mar Mar by 1 1/4 lengths at Salisbury.

She stayed on really well that day, and the runner-up went on to land a runaway success in a maiden at Doncaster before running two cracking races at Meydan to finish four to Music Chart in the UAE 1000 Guineas trial before occupying the same position in the big one itself behind Lovely Pass where she was beaten just 2 lengths.

That gives the Salisbury form a solid look and given Mar Mar is now officially rated 97 on the turf makes the selection look on a very handy opening mark of 77.

The step to a mile should also suit given the manner of her win at Salisbury, and with Tom Queally in the saddle she looks cracking each-way value

Recommended bet: 3pts each-way Miss Marjurie (8/1 BetVictor, Boylesports, Hills – BOG)
