African Trader shaped better than the bare result suggests last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 4.45 at Ffos Las today.
Mark Loughnane”s charge has only had five starts and shaped quite nicely on debut when a not knocked about 7 1/2 length ninth of 13 to the now 101-rated Edward Lewis at Doncaster.
He backed that up with a fair third to Zwayyan at Beverley when keeping on to be beaten 6 1/4 lengths.
The winner has won tiwce since to be rated 85 and the second home Thundering Blue has run some solid races to be placed off 75.
African Trader was not at his best in his final two starts, including when well beaten on handicap debut on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton off 65.
However, he was then gelded and posted an improved effort last time out when a keeping on fourth at Leicester having raced keenly in the early stages and not been ideally placed.
He has since been dropped another 1lb to a mark of 59 and that looks exploitable judged on his first two starts.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way African Trader (10/1 Betfred. Coral, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
