Nonios shaped as if retuning to form in his last two starts and makes plenty of appeal in the 7.30 at Chelmsford today.
David Simcock’s six-year-old lost vital ground when slowly away at the start before keeping on well to finish a never nearer 4 1/2 length fifth of 12 to Swift Emperor at Wolverhampton.
He backed that up with a staying on never nearer 1 1/4 length third yo Influent at the same venue when racing keen in the early stages and not unduly knocked about.
Nonios is able to race in this off an unchanged rating of 78, just 1lb higher than when last successful at Wolverhampton he slammed Eurysthues by 3 1/4 lengths.
It gives him major claims if taking another step forward effort for a yard in good form at present.
Another plus is that he is now reunited with Martin Harley who partnered him to his last victory, so everything looks in place for a big run.
