Candy’s Dream Catcher looks sweet at 9/1

Dream Catcher runs off a career-low mark in the 4.40 at Windsor this evening and looks cracking each-way value at 9/1.

Henry Candy’s  gelding has not scored since landing back-to-back contests on soft ground back in 2012, scoring over course and distance and Pontefract off a mark of 65,

However, the six-year-old has run a number of solid races to make the frame off higher marks including when runner-up to the now 100-rated Asphan Sam at Bath off 75.

He also ran well on a couple of occasions last season, when third to Magic City at Goodwood off 72 and runner-up to Dominium at Kempton off 68.

There was also lots to like about his seasonal reappearance run when third to stable companion Apricot Sky at Wawick, and although he failed to build on that in his next four runs there was mnuch more to like about his staying on fourth to the in-form Panther Patrol last time out at Lingfield.

The return to the turf on ground which holds no fears could well see him in a better light if building on that, and Dream Catcher is now running off a career-low mark of 63 – 2lb lower than whne last successful.

That makes him very well-treated on the pick of his form, and with the stable going well at present and Charlotte Jenner in the saddle taking another 5lb off his back, Dream Catcher looks to have plenty going for him.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Dream Catcher (9/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
