9/1 Sky Ship the standout bet at Sandown

Sky Ship makes look potentially well-treated on the pick of his form and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 7.35 at Sandown this evening now stepped up in trip.

Sir Michael Stoute’s colt shaped with plenty of promise in his first two runs as a juvenile last season before easily opening his account in a 7f maiden at Wolverhampton.

He raced prominently before surging clear to score by 3 1/2 lengths from Hutton, and the runner-up has come out and won since.

The third home Pirates Treasure, who was beaten a total of 3 3/4 lengths, has gone on to score three times and the fourth and 11th home have also won since.

That gave the form a strong looks and suggested an opening mark of 82 for Sky Ship was lenient.

Although only fifth off it on return to action at Sandown, Sky Ship was givena poor ride by Ryan Moore and got trapped on the heels of the leaders as the pace quickened before keeping on at the one pace to be 3 lengths by Manson.

That was also a very strong race as the second, third and foruth home have all won since to be rated 93, 92, and 105 respectively.

Sky Ship has since run well to finish fourth at Chester on two occasions over 7f and is now able to race in this off 81.

It gives him major claims at the weights and he has been shaping as if the step up to 1m will suit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Sky Ship (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
