9/1 Wisdom worth a wager in Irish Lincoln

The Irish flat season gets underway at the Curragh today, and the unexposed Font of Wisdom makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the Lincoln at 5.00.

Dermot Weld’s son of Marju showed plenty of promise in two maiden runs, finishing just one place and two lengths behind Sharestan when fourth at Fairyhouse on the second of those.

He meets that rival on 1lb worse terms this afternoon, but to me he ran far better than that rival and still looked very green and in need of the experience and was not subjected to a hard race.

That kindness was repaid at the Galway Festival on his final start of 2011 when he won in facile fashion by 5 lengths in the style of a horse that would make up into a really useful three-year-old.

The handicapper has allotted him an opening mark of just 94, and to me he has the potential to be far better than that.

His handler is also very shrewd when it comes to plundering big prizes and is sure to have him tuned to the minute for this.

With Pat Smullen in the saddle and a decent looking draw in stall 15 he looks sure to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommende bet: 3pts each-way Font Of Wisdom (9/1 Boylesports – BOG)
