9/2 Kingsmere the standout bet at Ludlow

Kingsmere looks nicely treated on the pick of his form in the 2.30 at Ludlow today and at 9/2 rates the standout bet on the card.

Henry Daly’s charge lost his confidence over fences but got back on track over hurdles in emphatic fashion when bolting up at Cheltenham back inm April after 151 days on the sidelines.

The nine-year-old slammed Ballyculla by 10 lengths in a competitive 17-runner class 2 contest off a mark of 119, and then ran well when turned out quickly under a 7lb penalty fo finish runner-up to Decimus at Ludlow.

He then disappointed at Aintree May, but it may well have been that race came to quickly following his previous exploits and he ran much better at the same venue on his penultimate start when a 4 3/4 length fifth of 10 to Spirit Of Shankly off a mark of 129.

Kingsmere was  the far from disgraced alst time out when fourth over fences at Ludlow, when not seeming to relish going back over the larger obstacles.

The return to hurdles look the right move, and he now gets into this contest off what looks a workable mark of 128 given that he was rated as high as 137 over fences.

This is also a class 3 contest, compared to the class 2 company he won in at Prestbury Park, and Andrew Tinler who partnered him to success that day is now back in the saddle.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Kingsmere (9/2 BetVictor, Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
