Royal Rascal looks to have everything in hre favour in the 4.10 at York today and rates a solid bet at 9/2.
Tim Easterby’s filly has notched all three of her career successes over course and distance, with the last of those coming in a listed contest back in 2012 were she only had to be driven out to beat Odooj by 1 3/4 lengths off an official rating of 101.
She clearly had problems and was restricetd to just two starts last season in which she was well beaten, but the daughter of Lucky Story has shaped as if retaining all her ability in three runs this season.
After finishing a decent sixth of 12 to Fast Shot on reappearance at Pontefract, Royal Rascal caught the eye when keeping on well to be fifth of 20 to Aetna over course and distance off today’s mark of 95.
She then got beat just 1 1/4 lengths when finsining runner-up to Bondesire at Chester last time out after allowing the winner to get first run before finishing off strongly.
Royal Rascal now meets the winner on 6lb better terms, and that should be more than enough to see her reverse the placings given how the race panned out.
It’s also interesting that connetions are now fitting Royal Rascal with blinkers for the first time, and with David Allan in the saddle she looks the one they all have to beat.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Royal Rascal (9/2 Stan James – BOG)
