Un Bleu A L’Aam looks ahead of his mark and is strongly fancied at 9/2 to land the 3.15 at Chepstow today.
Trained by the in-form Victor Dartnall, the gelding shaped with promise in two bumper runs last spring before catching the eye on several occasions over hurdles when not kncoked about.
They included a plugging on 8th of 22 to the classy Josses Hill in a decent maiden hurdle run on soft ground at Newbury, and Un Bleu A L’Aam’s final run when fourth of 15 to Wintered Hill at Uttoxeter suggested he would have more to offer this season.
The six-year-old made a couple of costly errors late on in that contrest before being unable to find any extra to be beaten 4 1/4 lengths off his current mark of 95.
The winner went on to follow-up next time out, and the runner-up Jaja De Jau – who was receiving 8lb from the selection – has gone on to score twice since and is now rated 113.
That gives the form a strong look, and suggests that Un Bleu A L’Aam is potentially well-ahead of his current rating.
It’s also interesting that connections are now fitting him with the tongue-tie for the first time, and with Jack Doyke in the saddle this weak looking class 5 contest looks a golden opportunity for Un Bleu A L’Aam to open his account.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Un Bleu A L’Aam (9/2 bet365, BetVictor, Stan James – BOG)
