Achill Road Boy appeals at 6s

Achill Road Boy looks on a potentially handy mark in the 1.30 at Ayr today and makes plenty of appeal at 6/1

The gelding manged to make the frame just starts in Ireland when third to NotwhatIam in the six-runner maiden hurdle at Linerick wherew he finished 4 1/4 lenths behind the runner-up Inch Rise who is now rated 120.

He has since joined trainer Bill Coltherd and has been well backed in all three starts for his new handler, finishing a good third in a novice handicap chase ar Hexham and after falling next time up at Newcastle opening his account last time out with a game neck success in a handicap chase at this venue off a mark of 102.

Achill Road Boy now switches back to hurdles off a mark just 3lb higher, and on his run beyond Inch Rise at Limerick should be more than capable of winning races off his current rating of 105.

Sam Colthgerd also takes off another 5lb with his claim and with underfoot conditions holding now fewars everything looks in place for a huge run.
