Addikt has slipped back down to a dangerous mark and is strongly fancied at 8/1 to take advantage and land the 7.00 at Kempton this evening.
Michael Scudamore’s charge has won three of his 7 starts at the track, and although those wins have all come over 1m 2f he does have some solid back form to his name over shorter and today’s mile trip shouldn’t be a problem.
Indeed he ran a blinder over it on his recent reappearance here after 293 days on the sidelines, where after being slowly away he stayed on strongly under a hands and heels ride to finish a never nearer 4 1/2 lengths 7th of 13 to Divine Pamina.
He was not knocked about in any shape or form that day, and it was an effort which had future winner written all over it.
The eight-year-old gets into this off the same mark of 65, and is just 5lb higher than when registering his last success here last April where he easily landed a gamble by 2 1/2 lengths.
Prior to that he had landed back-to-back successes at the track in 2011, again landing a gamble off 60 in good style before following up of 65.
Those successes suggest he is now on the right mark to go in again, especially with Ryan Tate in the saddle taking another 5lb off his back.
He should also now be spot on to do himself justice after his recent pipe-opener, and this looks a nice opportunity for him to register another success on a track which clearly brings out the best in him.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Addikt (8/1 Hills – BOG)
