Albert’s Back appeals most at Nottingham

Albert’s Back looks on a potentially handy mark now switched back to the level in the 2.50 at Nottingham today and worth siding with at 8/1.

This Mick Easterby trained five-year=old is lightly-raced o the flat having had only five starts.

Although he has failed to trouble the judged in any of those runs he wasn’t totally disgarced when a 4 3/4 length seventh of nine to Time To Study in the 2017 running off the class 2 Edinburgh Cup at Mussekbrugh off a mark of 73.

He went on to land back-to-back hurdle contest at Wetherby at the end of that year and ran a cracker following a 423 absence when runner-up to Joke Dancer in a class 2 handicap hurdle at Newcastle back in February off a rating of 137.

Alberts’ Back is now able to race off a reduced flat rating off just 69 and that makes him a fascinating contender in this is transferring the improved form he has shown over hurdles back to the level.

He also has a 66 per cent strike rate in class 4 company, albeit those wins have come over the obstacles, and has priven winning form in the mud.

In receipt of weight from all his eight rivals, I think he is handicapped to run a big race in the hands of Nathan Evans.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Albert’s Back (8/1 William Hill – BOG)
