All over Actress in Lowther Stakes

Actress has the strongest form in the book and looks overpriced at 4/1 in the Lowther Stakes at York today (2.25) now eased in grade.

Aidan O’Brien’s filly has won twice and being placed on four ocacsions in seven starts this season.

In the last of those successes she stayed on strongly to land the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh by 1 3/4 lengths from Theobald and had Brother Bear, who had previously finsihed a cracking fourth in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, a further 1/2 length back in third.

Actress has since gone on to run a solid race to finish third behind stable companion Sioux Nation in the Group 1 Phoenis Stakes at the same venue.

She kept on well to be beaten two lengths and the winner, and runner-up Beckford, are both progressive colts.

The form reads extremely well in the congtext of this lower grade Group 2 contest and Actress is now back racing aga8int her own sex.

That makes things easier and altough she finished a neck behind Madeline when sixth in the Albany at Royal Ascot she has thrievd since and seems to be improving with every run.

To me she is should be favourieite for this so at the odds on offer looks well worth a wager.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Actress (4/1 bet365, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
