The lightly-raced Anaakeed has posted two solid efforts of late and off what looks a handy mark makes plenty of appeal at 13/2 in the 5.35 at Bath today.
In the first of those at Chelsmford, the Owen Burrows trained filly kept on nicely from off the pace to finish a never nearer 1 1/4 length third to Saint Diana.
The winner had some solid form going into the race and is now rated 80, whilst the runner-up Lady Momoka is a promising sort who had previously finished sixth of 12 to subsequent Royal Ascot winner Agrotera at Windsor.
That makes it look a decent class 4 novice contest for the grade and Anaakeed has since run really well on handicap debut at the same venue when third of 10 to Pink Phantom off an opening mark of 72.
She was denied a clear run when making headway at the furlong marker but then kept on well to be beaten just over 2 lengths.
It was a promising effort and one which suggested she was ahead of the assessor.
Anaakeed is able to race in this off an unchanged mark and after just four starts remains unexposed and open to plenty more progress.
She is clearly going the right way and hails from a yard that has an overall strike rate of 33 per cent at the track having saddled two winners and two placed from just six runners.
If taking another step forward she looks weighted to run a huge race in the hands of Jim Crowley.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Anaakeed (13/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
