Angels Will Fall looks heavenly at 16s

The chances of Angels Will Fall seem to have been overlooked in the 3.50 at Haydock today and she looks worth an each-way interest at the 16/1 on offer.

The daughter of Acclamation was a very smart juvenile, and although she only managed to score once last season when winning a listed contest at Ayr she ran some solid races in defeat.

She was beaten just 1 1/2 lengths when third of 5 to Markab in a listed affair at Windsor where she had the likes of Genki and Medician Man behind and went on to run a stormer in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood when fifth of 17 to the flying Aussie mare Ortensia.

Charlie Hills’ charge travelled strongly off the pace that day and made good headway to lead her group at the furlong marker before keeping on at the one pace to be beaten just 2 1/4 lengths.

She finished just a length behind the runner-up Spirit Quartz, who is a really useful sort who has performed well at the highest level and recently won a Group 2 at Chantilly in good style.

That is strong form in the contest of this listed contest, and although the selection hasn’t been at her best in three starts this season those runs have all been in group company and she now drops back in grade to a level in which she has proven winning form.

She also finished just 4 lengths behind today’s favourite Hoyam in her second start this season, and was sent off 20/1 that day compared to the 25s for that rival.

That suggests that there shouldn’t be such a huge discrepancy in the prices between the pair this afternoon, and she also now meets Michael Bell’s charge ion slightly better terms.

To me this also doesn’t look the strongest of listed contests, and  on her run behind Ortensia the selection holds outstanding claims and looks a the vakue bet at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Angels Will Fall (16/1 bet365 – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
