Annes Rocket has slipped down to a dangerous mark and looks good value at 9/1 to take advanatge and land the 4.05 at Lingfield today following an eye-catching run last time out.

Jimmy Fox’s charge was a dual winner in 2012, beating Buckland – who is now rated 98 on the all-weather – in a class 5 contest at Sandown off a mark of 62 and Mother Jones in a class 5 contest at Bath off a mark of 67.

The nine-year-old started last season on a mark of 73 as a result of that last success, and was far from disgraced off it when fourth of 13 to Clear Spring in a class 4 contest at Bath.

Since then he has put in a mixed bag of perfromaces but wasn’t disgraced four starts back over course and distance when fourth to One Way Or Another off 63, and his run last time out when fifth of 12 to Nubar Boy here suggested that he would be winning soon off his current mark of 58

He finished well that day after not getting the clearest of runs to be beaten just 1 3/4 lengths, and now drops back to 7f over which he has notched 5 of his 8 career successes.

If he can build on that effort then he has to go close in this off the same mark granted better luck in running.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Annes Rocket (9/1 Betfred, BetVictor, Hills, Paddy Power  – BOG)
