Any Second Now looks decent value at 5/1 to get off the mark over fences in the Grade 2 Ten Up Novices’ Chase at Navan today (15:25). This Ted Walsh trained seven-year-old is yet to get his head in front in eight starts over the larger obstacles but has posted some solid efforts in defeat. They include when beaten 6 lengths into second by the now 161-rated Monalee at Punchestown and a 4 1/2 length third to Invitation Only, who is now rated 152, in a seven runner affair at this venue Any Second Now also ran well two starts back when a neck runner-up to Mortal at Fairyhouse and backed that up with a solid 9 3/4 length fifth of 27 to Auvergnat over 3m at Leopardstown at Christmas. The form of those races give him solid claims in this and he is officially the joint top rated in the seven-runner line-up off 142. Any Second Now has also won and finished runner-up in his two previous runs at the venue so the track clearly suits. So with the in-form Mark Walsh, who has won once and been placed four times on him from 10 starts, once again in the saddle everything looks in place for a big run.
