Azamesse has been knocking on the door of late and looks wortha wager at 9/2 to open her account in the 3.10 at Redcar today.

Trained in Ireland by John Feane, Azamesse is a lightly raced filly who has made he frame in five of her eight starts and caught the eye two outings ago when third of 10 to Regal Ways over 1m 4f at Hamilton.

After travelling well on the heels of the leaders, the three-year-old got slightly outpaced when the tempo quickened three from home before keeping on again to be beaten three lengths.

It was an effort which suggested Azamesse may well have more to offer when stepped up in trip, and that view was confirmed last time out at Ayr when she got beat just a head over 1nm 5f.

That was Azamesse’s second run back following 60 days on the sidelines, and she should now be spot on to do herself justice.

Today’s 1m 6f trip should also suit, and having initially been rated 73 is now she is now able to race off 6lb lower.

That makes Azamesse look well-treated on the pick of her form, and this is a weak class 5 contest which represents an excellent opening for her to get off the mark

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Azamesse (9/2 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
