Back France to give Swedes a roasting

France rate a cracking punt at 8/11 to beat Sweden in their Euro2012 clash tonight (7.45pm KO, Live on ITV4).

Sweden are already heading home and it’s hard to see them putting up any real fight against the French, and I can’t see their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic having much enthusiasm for this.

The stats are also good as far as France are concerned. They are unbeaten in their last 11 games against their opponents (six wins, five draws) and last lost to them way back in October 1969.

The French also upped their game a notch when beating Ukraine 2-0, a game in which they carved out plenty of chances in front of goal.

Samir Nasri, Jeremy Menez and Yohan Cabaye have got the goals for them so far in the tournament, but this looks the perfect stage for Karim Benzema to break his duck.

He is a 9/2 shot with Blue Square and Stan James to net the opener, and that looks worth a wager given that he is generally a 7/2 chance elsewhere.

France to win 3-0 is my idea of the outcome, and that scoreline is a juicy 14/1 with Betfred and BetVictor.
