Back Hull on the handicap against United

Hull know that only three points will be good enough to give them any chance of relegation in their final game of the Premier League season at home today against Manchester United (3pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 3) and look worth backing at 4/6 with bet365 on the handicap (+1).

If Hull do win at the KC Stadium, and Newcastle fail to do so against West Ham, then they will avoid the drop.

They are sure to be up for the fight under likable manager Steve Bruce, but the stats are not good.

Hull have lost all seven previous Premier League encounters with United, conceding 21 goals in the process.

Bruce has alsowon none of his 20 games as a Premier League manager against his former club (D4 L16), so the task facing them today is a massive one.

However, United have nothing to play for having secured fourth place and Chamoions League football this season, and if Hull are going to get a result then today has to be the day.

At a top priced 23/10 they are plenty short enough in the outright market for met, with United deserved 13/10 favourites.

However, United have now gone eight games without keeping a clean sheet and I can see that run remaining.

If that proves to be the case a draw could be in the offing, but given the circumstances surrounding this game it’s hard to predict an outright outcome as it could go either way if Hull take an early lead.

Therefore, backing Hull on the handicap with a goals start looks the way to play at the 4/6 on offer.
