Baltic Prince runs Brighton well and looks worth a bet at 5/2 to land the 5.00 there today.

Tony Carroll’s eight-year-old has won twice and been placed once in foru starts at the venue.

His last success came in a 6f contest at the track four starts back when staying on strongly to score by a neck from Tigerwolf off a mark of 66.

Altough now 6lb higher in the weights he comes into the race in good form and showed that he could be competitive off it last time out when a 1 1/2 length fourth of 11 to Gabrial’s Kaka at Chester.

This looks less competive and Baltic Prince is a course and distance winner who is arguably at his best over this afternoon’s 7f trip.

He also goes well for amateur riders and his pilot Poppy Bridgewater has won once and been placed once on him in three starts.

She takes off a handy 7lb with her claim and the yard does well at this meeting and saddled a winner and three placed from five runners here yesterday.

So taking eveything into account, this looks a nice opening for Baltic Prince to notch career success number 14.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Baltic Prince (5/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
