Barafundle has slipped to a career-low mark and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 18/1 in the 1.15 at Haydock today.
Jenny Candlish’s 12-year-old was last successful at Uttoxter back on March 2015 when beating Top Wood by 1 1/2 lengths on soft ground off a mark of 137.
He went on to finish runer-up next time out off 142 and is now able to race off just 126.
That gives him a big shout at the eights on the pikc of his form and Barafundle has winning form on heavy ground so the bottomless conditions should not be an issue.
He has also won and been placed three times at the track, albeit over hurdles, and has a strike rate of 28.5% in the grade (class 3).
Barafundle has also run well after a break in the past and at the odds on offer looks overpriced for a horse that has become dangerously well-treated.
Daily Sport recommended bet 2pts each-way Barafundle (18/1 bet365, BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
