Barrys Jack weighted to collect at Carlisle

Barrys Jack has a good at Carlisle and is back down to his last winning mark so rates a solid bet in the 2.00 there today.

Brian Ellison’s trained eight-year-old has won twice and been placed once in four starts at the venue. In the last of those successes 14 months ago he completed the hat-trick when landing a seven-runner contest by 2 1/2 lengths from Spectator off a mark of 107. Barrys Jack got put up to 115 for that game victory and failed to trouble the judged in his next seven starts.

However, there was lots to like about his return to action over course and distance last month following a 203 day break when staying on well from off the pace to be nearest at the finish and a 4 3/4 length fourth of 19 to Take a Break.

That was a big step back in the right direction and Barrys Jack is able to race in this off an unchanged mark of 107 – the same as when last successful. I

It gives hin major claims from a handicapping perspective, esepcially when taking into account the 7lb claim of his young in-form rider Danny McMenamin.

Barrys Jack to have been primed for this and also has underfoot conditions to suit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Barrys Jack (9/4 Paddy Power – BOG)
