Everton have a good record at home against Chelsea and look worth a punt a 11/5 to beat the Blues in their Carling Cup game tonight (8pm KO).
The Londoners travel to Goodison Park still smarting from Sunday’s surprise loss to Queens Park Rangers, which was only the second defeat they have suffered under manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese manager was furious with the ref’s decisions which saw his side play over half the match with nine men following the dismissals of Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba.
He will be looking for his side to bounce back with a victory tonight, but given that he is likely to rest many of his first team regulars they could well struggle to deliver.
Many will disagree and be quick to point out that Chelsea easily beat Everton 3-1 at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
However that was their first defeat in seven games for the Toffees against the west London club, and Chelsea have also not won at Goodison since April 2008.
Also, with Everton boss David Moyes not having the luxury of a huge squad he is likely to field a near full strength side for this tie.
That could well give the home side the edge, and at 11/5 with Ladbrokes they look a tasty bet.
