Benteke can fire Villa to victory

Aston Villa look too big at the general 5/1 on offer to cause and upset and bgeat Liverpool in their FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley today (3pm KO, Live on BTSport 1).

The Villans have done far better since Tim Sherwood took over as manager, winning three and drawing once in eight games to pull themselvces out of the relegation zone.

Sherwood’s direct tactics have seen a return to form of Christian Benteke, and he is likely to be the key to them beating the Reds in 90 minutes.

Benteke is a real handful when on-song, and he has the physical presence to cause the Liverpool backline all sorts of problems.

If Villa cad provide him with the right service the Belgian can deliver the goods, and Liverpool haven’t exactly looked anything special this season.

Brendan Rodger’s men have looked vulnerable at the back and lack any real cutting edge up front since the departure of Suarez.

If Villa can hold them early doors I can see Liverpool getting frustrated and becoming exposed in key areas of the field.

That will enable Villa to hit them on the break, and the aforementioned Benteke can fire them to success.

He is a standout 9/1 with Ladbrokes in the first goalscorer market, and that looks too big and well worth a wager given that he is as short as 11/2 elsewhere.
