Sky Sports 1 serves us up a battle of the bangers when Tony “The Bomber” Bellew continues his ascent through the world rankings when he takes on former world title challenger Edison Miranda tonight (9.30pm).
If I am truly honest this looks a tougher test on paper than what it actually appears for Bellew.
Miranda has clearly seen better days and when he was at his peak he probably wasn’t that good anyway. He has a reputation as a massive puncher and apart from rocking the vulnerable Kelly Pavik he hasn’t knocked out anyone world class.
To me he has seen better days and looked very dis-interesting in his last performance against the useful Isaac Chilemba .
That’s not to say its not an interesting fight as Bellew will always have that air of vulnerability about him and being put on his backside by Bob Ajisafe and Ovil McKenzie.
However, one thing the boy can do is bang, and if in an attacking mood (not like his second McKenzie performance) I think he can put on a devastating performance here against a much slower and chinny opponent.
For those reasons, lets take the “Bomber” to get rid of “Pantera” early doors.
