Toby Bindon and Barrie Jones are off to the States this weekend to represent BKB™
They fight American opponents next Friday and I’m sure they will do us proud. Toby and Barrie are convinced they will come home with knockouts – and so am I.
There’s a lot of pride at stake here. The Yanks put out a press release promising to teach us how to fight bareknuckle – and that’s put even more fire in the bellies of Toby and Barrie.
They see this as the chance of a lifetime and there will be more opportunities for our fighters in the coming months because of the link up with BYB.
I always knew if we did bareknuckle boxing right the sport would grow and that’s how it has turned out.
We’ve grown so much over the last few years and we are going to keep growing.
We’ve got a couple of Americans coming over to fight on our show on BKB 24 that goes ahead at the O2 Arena on Saturday, January 22.
We added another title fight to BKB 24 this week.
Lawrence Tracey and Matty Hodgson meet for the vacant British middleweight championship – and Mason Shaw will face the winner.
Lawrence fought for the belt last month against Mason and it was ruled a no contest after Mason suffered an injury.
Matty had a great win over Ash Gibson on the same show. Matty had a tough start to his career with BKB™, stuck at it and showed real character to beat Ash in a hard fight. His reward is a shot at the British title on what should be another great night that’s topped by our first fight for the world heavyweight championship between Dorian Darch and Dan Podmore.
Until next week
Joe Smith-Brown
