Blue Rhythm a bet to open account

Blue Rhythm ran well when third last time out and looks worth a bet at 11/2 to land the spoils in the 4.05 at Southwell today. This seven-year-old is yet to get his head in front in 12 starts over hurdles but did run well to make the frame on two occasions here when trained by Evan Williams. In the first of those he got chinned on the line and beaten a short head by Shooting Hill off a mark of 91. Blue Rhythm went on to be beaten just 1/2 a length into third off the same rating on his final start for Williams. He then joined Alastair Ralph and has shaped a bit better than the bare result suggest in his first two starts this season without being unduly knocked about. Having been dropped 3lb since the last of those when fading late on to finish sixth of 16 to Emma Beag at Ayr, Blue Rhythm ran really well off a rating of 88 when a three length third of 16 to Hear The Chimes at Huntington. He led three from home that day and after getting headed at the second last stuck to the task well. It was a big step back in the right direction and although nudged up 2lb for that Blue Rhythm still looks nicely treated on the pick of his form. The visor also now goes on for the first time and if that has the desired effect this looks a good opportunity for Blue Rhythm to finally open his account.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Blue Rhythm (11/2 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
