Amazing Blue Sky runs of a career-low handicap mark in the 4.00 at Ayr today and looks worth siding with at 12/1 to take advantage.
Ruth Carr’s eight-year-old has been a grand servant over the years, winning nine times in 91 starts and finishing placed on 24 occasions.
The gelding is a tough front runner who is difficult to pass when on-song, and took advantage of his falling mark when scoring at Newcastle last June by 2 1/4 lengths off a mark of 55.
The assessor whacked him up 6lb for that success, and Amazing Blue Sky has failed to trouble the judged in six subsequent starts.
However, his mark has fallend again as a resylt and he now gets into this contest off just 51.
That is his lowesrt ever and gives him every chance at the weights, especially considering he has won off 75 in the past and was placed over course and distance in 2012 off 79.
Another plus is that his handler is beginning to hit top gear, and from a good draw in stall 2 Amazing Blue Sky is drawn to attack.
With James Sullivan – who knows like the back of his hand – in the saddle, eevrything looks in place for a huge run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Amazing Blue Sky (12/1 bet365 – BOG)
