Boundaries has been given a massive chance by the handicapper and makes plenty of appeal at 15/2 in the 2.20 at Musselburgh.
Tim Easterby’s gelding scored twice as a juvenile and looked the type to keep on the right side in handicaps when a very promising third to Lexi’s Hero at Chester’s May meeting last year off a mark of 83.
He made good headway from the rear to throw down a challenge entering the final furlong, and only lost out on second place close home to be beaten just over 2 lengths.
The winner is now rated 100 whilst the runner-up Jamesie went on score twice before being narrowly beaten at the Galway Festival and is officially rated 92.
It was therefore disappointing that Boundaries failed to cut any ice and ran some shockers for much of the remainder of last year, but he did put in a couple of runs which would make him of interest in this from his reduced mark.
The four-year-old was a good second to Elusive Prince off 78, and ran well from the same mark on his final start when a close up fifth of 17 to Amenable at Pontefract.
The handicapper has since dropped him another couple of pounds to 76, and re is now is a pound lower than when registering his last win at Chester back in 2010.
That gives him every chance from a handicapping perspective, and his shrewd handler looks to have found him a nice opportunity to exploit of ready to go at the first time of asking.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Boundaries (15/2 BetVictor, Paddy Power)
