Methayel looks magic at 7/2

Methayel looks to have a golden chance of following up her recent course and distance win in the 3.35 at Brighton today.

Clive Brittain’s filly came good at the sixth time of asking when readily beating Bedibyes by 3/4 of a length at the Sussex track last week and a 4lb penalty is unlikely to prevent her going in again.

She was always travelling like a winner that day and after quickening into the lead a furlong from home only had to be pushed out with hands and heels for a cosy victory.

She was value for much more than the winning margin, and now that she has got her head in front she looks the type who will continue to progress and win more races in this grade.

Today’s opposition doesn’t look up to much and at 7/2 she looks the best bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Methayel (7/2 generally available – BOG)

Glass Mountain value at 7/1

Glass Mountain looks value at 7/1 to defy a penalty in the 2.30 at Brighton today.

James Fanshawe’s gelding showed much improved form to break his duck at Yarmouth 10 days ago, when he quickened in good style to land a 16-runner handicap with more in hand than the short-head winning margin suggests.

Although the form is nothing to write home about the manner of his victory suggested that there may be more to come, and now that his confidence has been boosted I think he is capable of defying a 6lb rise in the weights.

He is one of the few runners in the field who remains relatively unexposed, and the way he finished off his race at Yarmouth suggested to me that today’s extra two furlongs would be ideal.

The son of Verglas looks sure to take all the beating, and at the odds on offer looks an each-way steal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Glass Mountain (7/1 Blue Square)
