Campbell rematch and Askin v Okolie added to Wembley Sept 22

The Joshua v Povetkin card at Wembley Stadium on September 22 is really starting to shape up with promoter Eddie Hearn adding the REMATCH between Luke Campbell and Yvan Mendy in a WBC lightweight title final eliminator.

Last time out in 2015 Campbell came out of it will a SHOCK split decision loss. Campbell bounced back after that until losing again via split decision to Jorge Linares last September for WBA strap, on the other hand Frenchman Mendy has been unbeaten since the win over Campbell at the o2.

This fight should be a CRACKER with both guys now on the cusp of world title honours.

Now Matty Askin will defend his BRITISH crusierweight strap against Lawrence Okolie. Askin has been on a roll recently after stopping former champ Wales’ Craig Kennedy inside 6 rounds in May 2017 to take the title and going on to stop Scot Stephen Simmonds inside 2 rounds in March 18. Askin is now predicting an early night at Wembley for former Team GB man Okolie.

Okolie told DAILY SPORT Boxing”This announcement is a fantastic day for me, my ultimate goal is to unify the division.”

The entire show will be broadcast LIVE on SKY SPORTS Box Office on the night.
