8/1 Mission Impossible can strike again
Mission Impossible did us a favour when landing a gamble two days ago and looks terrific value at 8/1 to follow up in the 6.05 at Carlisle this evening.
Tracy Waggott’s gelding romped home at Newcastle and it’s no surprise to see him turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty.
He is still extremely well treated off a mark of 52, as his last success before Newcastle came off the same rating and he has been victorious off marks as high as 70 and 71 in the past.
I was impressed by the way showed a good turn of foot to put the race to bed on Monday, and the current cut in the ground clearly suits him well.
Having said that he has run well on all types of going and won on the all-weather, so he is not totally dependent on having the mud flying.
To my eyes he is the one they all have to beat, and he looks a great each-way punt at the 8/1 on offer with Hills.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mission Impossible (8/1 Hills – BOG)
10/1 Botham can leave bookies stumped
Botham has been shaping as if his turn is near and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 7.05 at Carlisle.
Jim Goldie’s charge finished a decent sixth of 11 to Hot Rod Mamma at this track two starts ago in a race that has worked out well, and the winner has since gone on to score again and land a four-timer.
The selection did disappoint on his next start at Hamilton but bounced back to form on his latest start at the same track when a staying on third of 15 to I’m Super Too.
He ran on really strongly that day from way off the pace to be beaten just under 4 lengths, and the runner-up Master Of Dance has franked the form by subsequently scoring by nine lenghs at Newcastle on Monday.
A reproduction of that effort would make him extremely hard to beat in this line-up, and another plus is that he looks sure to get the strong gallop he needs to be seen at his best.
Underfoot conditions are also in his favour, and at 10/1 with coral he looks an each-way steal.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Botham (10/1 Coral)
