Chelsea the bet to beat injury ravaged Spurs

Spurs are struggling with injuries ahead of tonight’s derby clash with Chelsea (8pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and that makes the Blues look a tasty bet at 13/8 to beat their arch rivals.

Aaron Lennon is definitely out for the hosts, while fellow wide man Gareth Bale is rated “very doubtful”. Ledley King and Jermain Defoe are also injury doubts.

No surprise then Chelsea have been cut across the board and I can’t see the 17/10 with Stan James lasting long.

AVB’s men were disappointing in their recent 1-1 draw away at Wigan, but before that they had looked in tip top shape and back to near the best with wins over Newcastle and Man City.

A reproduction of either of those performances should be good enough to see them take care of a depleted Spurs, despite the fact that the stats reveal that none of the last 11 meetings between the two sides in the league has ended as an away win.

The stats also throw up a interesting bet in the goal scorer markets regarding Didier Drogba.

In his last seven league appearances against Spurs, he has alternated between scoring and not finding the net and having not made the scoresheet last time out is due a goal if that run continues.

That makes the 13/2 on offer with Stan James to score first look worth a punt, and i will also be backing him at at 2/1 with Ladbrokes to score anytime as a bit of added security.

Chelsea to win 2-0 is my idea of the outcome, and that scoreline can be backed at a juicy 14/1 with Ladbrokes.
