The Druids Nephew loosk to have been laid out for the Ultima Handicap Chase on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival (2.50) and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1.
Neil Mulholland’s charge the 10-year-old ran out an impressive winner of the race in 2015 when beating Grand Jesture by 3 3/4 lengths off a mark of 146.
He has been lightly-raced since and ran very well at Doncaster 12 months ago when runner-up the The Last Samuri in the Grimthorpe Chase off a rating of 155.
Thr 10-year-old is now able to race off 146 again, the same as when last successful in this, and that makes him dangrously well-treated on the pick of his form.
Although only ninth on his sole start this season at Ascot back in December, The Druids Nephew has a good record fresh and appears to have been svaed and targetted at this contest.
Mulholland knows how to get one primed to land a punt and the bllooking of Noel Fehily to to the steering for the first time is a positive as he has a 23% strike rate whne teaming up with the yard in the past 12 months.
