Cheltenham Festival Tuesday tips: Moss the one to Back in NH Chase

Mossback looks to have plenty going for him in the National Hunt Challenge Cup Amateur Riders’ Novices’ Chase (4.50).

The Gordon Elliott trained six-year-old scored in good style on chasing debut when staying on well to beat Snow Falcon by three lengths at Naas.

He had the likes of Grade 1 winning hurdler Bacardys and the sueful De Plotting Shed in behind in race that has thrown up subsequent winners.

Mossback was then far from disgarced when a 10 lentt fourth to Invitation Only in a Grade 3 at Punchestwon and was upsides and held every chance when falling at the last next time up in a similar grade affair at Naas.

To my mind he would have won that day had he stayde on his feet and the eventual 4 1/2 length runner-up Jury Duty is favoruite for this.

Mossback has since run really well to go down by just 1/2 a length to Monbeg Notorious in a Geade 2 at Navan and that one is a progressive sort who has now won his last three.

To me he brings just about the best form into the race , the step up to 4m promises to suit and he also has winning form in the mud.

The yard have also won two of the lats three renewal’s of the race and Mossback also has the services in the saddle of the highly talented Lisa O’Neill.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mossback (6/1 bet365 – BOG. 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
