Christopher Chua looks worth an each-way interest at 20/1 in the 2.35 at Lingfield today.
Michael Scudamore’s gelding is yet to get his head in front in 23 starts, but he has run well to be placed on a number of occasions and having started life off in handicaps off 69 now races off jyst 46.
The son of Clodovil has also run some of his best races over course and distance, finishing third to Artful Lady last February off a mark of 52 and an excellent second of 11 to Kashbom on his penultimate start off 45.
He kept on well in the latter from off the pace to be beaten a length, and the winner has gone on to follow-up at Wolverhampton in a quick time to give the form a solid look in the context of this contest.
A rapeat of that run would give him major cliams in this, and although he is clearly not straightforward he is likely to get the race run to suit this afternoon.
With the likes of Demoiselle Bond, Seamster and Waterlook Dock all liking to be at the head of affairs this race is likely to be run at a break-neck pace and that could well set it up for a closer.
Christopher Chua fits that bill, and with David Kenny in the saddle taking 5lb off his back he has the form in the book to go well in this if putting his best foot forward.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Christopher Chua (20/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
