City 1/7 for title

Man City are a top priced 1/7 with Coral  to secure their first Premier League title after edging a step closer to lifting the trophy with a 2-0 win at Newcastle.

Roberto Mancini’s men go into the final day of the season – when they host QPR – just needing to match Man United’s result against Sunderland.

United needed to improve their goal difference significantly in their clash with Swansea but were only capable of matching their rivals’ result and are now 6/1 to retain the title, needing a City slip-up as they hold an inferior goal difference of 10.

In the battle for third spot, Tottenham failed to make the most of Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Norwich as they were held 1-1 at Aston Villa, who effectively secured their safety, leaving the Gunners a point ahead and 4/9 in betting without the two Manchester clubs.

Spurs remain odds-on to finish in the top four while Newcastle, who sit a point behind, are 7/2 with Chelsea 15/2 ahead of their trip to Liverpool, where they can close the gap between themselves and Harry Redknapp’s men to two points.

At the bottom of the table, Bolton are now 5/2 to stay up as they need to win at Stoke on the final day to keep their survival hopes alive after drawing 2-2 with West Brom, while QPR moved out to 13/5 for relegation thanks to a 1-0 win over the Potters.
