Man City are long odds-on to win their away game at cardiff today (4pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and look worth a wager at 8/5 with BetVictor and Coral to do so to nil.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side enjoyed a stroll in the park on Monday night when winning 4-0 against Newcastle whereas the newly promoted Bluebirds started in disappointing fashion at West Ham when they managed just one shot on target.
It’s hard to see the home side causing the Citizens any real problems, but backing City to win at a top priced 9/20 doesn’t appeal as any real value for the normal punter.
However backing them at 8/5 to win without reply does given that they have now kept a clean sheet in 12 of their 19 league games in 2013, and Cardiff lack the firepower up front.
In the goalscorer markets I like the look of Edin Dzeko who can be backed at 11/2 with Hills and Paddy Power to score the opener and 6/4 to net anytime.
Despite not scoring against Newcastle he looked hungry and his total of eight shots was more than he managed in any Premier League game last season.
If he can put in a similar performance in this he should be able to get on the scoresheet, and the 6/4 about him in the anytime market with Boylesports and Paddy Power looks cracking value given that he is as short as even money elswhere.
