Class-dropping Alaskan Bay a bet at 8s under Watson

Alaskan Bay looks worth siding at 8/1 with off a career-low mark in the 1.40 at Lingfield today now dropped into class 7 company for the first time.

Rae Guest’s filly has only mangedf to make the frame once in eight starts. That came on handicap debut at Wolverhampton back in November where she showed plenty of pace to press the leader before leading inside the final furlong. She then got chinned late on to be beaten a head by Skyva off an opening mark of 54.

She was then sent off 15/8 favourite to gon one better in a class 5 at Chelsmford but showed speed again beflore weakening to finish a well beaten fourth.

Alaskan Bay is now able to race off just 49 is this very weak affair having shaped quite nicely last time out when a keeping on fourth in a class 6 at Wolverhampton off 3lb higher.

That was her first start back after a break, so she is entitled to strip much fitter for it.

Thoi is by far the easiest task she faced and the booking of the in-form Jason Watson, who is terrific value for his 3lb claim, is an eye-catching one which suggest are expecting a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Alaskan Bay (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
